The vehicle can be presented for its annual MOT test at any time during the 28 days prior to its expiry date. Should the vehicle pass the test, then the new MOT certificate will be dated to run for 12 months from the date of expiry of the old certificate. If the vehicle fails the test, you then have 10 working days for any rectification work to be carried out allowing you to arrange for the work to be done at your convenience
