I first became involved in motor sport in 1986 and have been associated in some way with it ever since. I have always liked driving cars and, with navigation being part of my husbands training in the RAF, it was logical that he sat in the co- I started competing in Road Navigation Rallies, Autotests, Autocross and eventually Forest Stage Rallies. During the early years we competed very successfully, winning our class in The North East of Scotland Road Rally Championship in 1988 and 1989. In 1988 I became the only woman to have won the Highland Car Club Overall Championship. We did not compete in 1990 and spent our time organising events for our local club, and preparing to compete in 1991. |

1991 We had a successful year in the Esso Scottish Forest Stage Rally Championship driving a 1275GT Mini and securing Second place in Class Four of the Championship.
1992 We again competed in the Championship and won Class 4 but this time in a 1293cc Rover Metro.
1993 This was our problem year. Again we used the Rover Metro but we had many mechanical breakdowns and accidents throughout the season and only recorded one finish from 9 events.
1994 We took a year out to prepare for the 1995 Mintex National Rally Series but this did not materialise as I fell on some ice and broke my left wrist just before the season started. I was in plaster for six months and then had to have two months of physiotherapy by which time the championship was almost over.
1996 We had mixed fortunes this year. We secured some financial support for the season and again competed successfully in the Scottish Championship Class 4 with the Metro, even though we had some major accidents which eventually led to the car having to be reshelled. We purchased a Peugeot 205 GTi in June and gave it a test on one forest event, but aimed to compete in the tarmac event, the Tour of Mull Rally, later in the year. We had a good run on Mull but lost time when we punctured in stage eventually finishing 4th in class and 75th overall. |

1997 We competed in the Mintex National Rally Series driving a 1600 Peugeot 205 Gti and had an extremely good year, winning Class B10 of the overall Championship.
1998 We again competed in the Mintex Series driving the Peugeot. We did not compete on all rounds of the Championship as we were assisting our eldest son, Kris, who was competing in the Scottish Championship and showing great potential. We did however win Class B10 for the second year running. Kris was Scottish Junior Rally Champion that year, also driving a Peugeot 205 GTi. |

I was then involved in organising events and was instrumental in setting up The Milltown Stages Rally and was the Secretary of the Meeting on every event that was held over a ten year period at the venue. I also assisted in the running of the Lossiemouth Sprints between 2005 and 2007 as Entries Secretary and organising all the paperwork. I have taken professional Marshal training and marshal on events when time permits. Events cannot take place without all the people behind the scenes.
After 1999 I only competed in a few events as and when the budget allowed. I took part in various Scottish Forest Rally Championship events in both the Peugeot 205 GTi and a 2000cc Vauxhall Astra. I also competed in a couple of events on tarmac at Knockhill using a Peugeot 205 GTi Mi16.
Dave and Kris built a new car for me for my 50th Birthday -
